ANALYZE STARBUCKS COFFEE Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words
ANALYZE STARBUCKS COFFEE - Essay Example Starbucks is a company which has throughout its history displayed a high capacity for being able to manage the workforce within it, and the competent management of its staff in its different stores has enabled the company to become highly successful, as those who work for it are motivated by its management ability (Fitzgerald, 2013). The wide range of coffee and other products which this company has put at it customersââ¬â¢ disposal means that it has to hire and maintain a large workforce in order to be able to function effectively. Unlike other companies in the same industry, Starbucks tends to be very careful and selective with the management of its staff because of the need to continuously make a profit. As a result of the competence that has been shown when dealing with its multi-cultural workforce, and also being able to venture into countries which speak different languages, Starbucks has come to achieve success on the international scene where other companies take years to achieve the same. The use of technological innovations has been found to be a very important aspect when running a company such as Starbucks because it is these innovations which have enabled this company to get customers and to make them remain loyal for many decades. It was realized early by the Starbucks management that it has to be innovative in order to survive the very competitive market that is predominant in the world today. It has been found that the key to Starbucksââ¬â¢ worldwide success is that people everywhere know what to expect when they go to the stores that it owns but this does not mean that this company has made any resistance to any changes or that it has refused to adapt when local customs require flexibility (Day & Moorman, 2013). In addition, it is a fact that this company has come to establish internal social networks to give its employees the opportunity to connect with the management and to support each other. This network has come to provide a space fo r the companyââ¬â¢s stores to share ideas, best practices, as well as customer stories, and there is also a forum section that is currently being used to encourage dialogue between Starbucksââ¬â¢ management and its employees as well as discussions between employees from the different stores within the chain. The use of such technology has been proven to be successful in getting the employees more involved with both the companyââ¬â¢s management as well as fellow employees. The introduction of new technology to aid its employees in their work is one of the most important policies that Starbucks has taken in hand. While in many other companies in the market it has been often found that resistance to change is often related to the introduction of new technology in place of the old ones which many employees are used to, this has not been the case with Starbucks. In fact, the opposite is true because the introduction of new technology at Starbucks has become immensely attractive to the younger generation of workers, who are often quick to adjust to its use, and the older employees have surprisingly not been left out since they have embraced the new technology without offering any resistance to its use, as would have been expected. In order to encourage its employees to adapt to the new technological changes within their stores, the management of Starbucks organizes training in the use of the new technology
Contemporary issue in the Economic and Political Environment of the UK Essay
Contemporary issue in the Economic and Political Environment of the UK Britain and the Euro Should we join or not - Essay Example And now I will try to give you an accurate account of the economic situation in the United Kingdom. (Minford) Chancellor of the Exchequer of the UK thinks that the country is not ready to join the European currency. Tony Bluer is of the some opinion. He is known to be a supporter of the European fusion, but he has not made the official statement yet. But still the decision has not been taken. (Minford) Observers say that Chancellor of the Exchequer isn't eager to introduce the country into the European zone. Prime Minister and the whole Labour party like the idea of the economical reunion with the continental Europe. There are some reasons for it. Firstly, Britain wants to be the leader of the EU, and for it the country should have the same currency as the whole organization has. (Marsday) Secondly, there is a probability of split between the members of the Labour party. And it is not profitable for the Prime Minister. Thirdly, the Conservative party can use antagonisms among the Labour party leaders which exist. From the economic point of view it is profitable for Britain to join the Euro. But the most suitable moment for it is when the Pound will be a bit closer to the Euro. In such a way the economy of the country will not feel a big strike. Otherwise, there will be a recession of the economy. But still, the nation won't feel it, because of the high development of the social pr ogram in the country. But the competing the Conservative party is strongly against it. They lost the trust of people, because of being against joining Britain the EU. Their most influential argument is the historical currency of the country. (Marsday) Their motto is: Let's preserve the Pound. Almost half of the country supports this idea. (Minford) The Conservative Party says that people must decide whether to change the national currency or not. A national referendum must show what to do with the problem which exists. The leader of the Party is sure that the country can successfully do without the Euro. He says that British people do not want to join the Euro. People know that it is a political decision, and the economic policy is not related to it. He adds that Tony Bluer just wants to choose the suitable moment and win the referendum. The Head of the Chamber of the Commerce, David Frost, says that the Government will decide whether to join the Euro or not, but later. However the Government should denote their actions for investors to know what to do with their capital formations and what to do next. The striking example of it is the Japanese corporation Toyota. It is one of the biggest foreign investors in Britain. (Marsday) At first, Toyota and almost all the other Japanese companies wanted Britain to introduce a new European currency. They were alarmed what would be with their investment. (Minford) However, now the Head of the Japanese corporation says that Toyota has a stable position in the country, and is not going to enlarge their capital investment. The corporation is not troubled

Milton's essay test Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
Milton's test - Essay Example The fate of man changed into a nature of uncertainty. While it was Satan who caused the deviance, man is justifiably and inevitably coursed to take on his new fate; and this new fate becomes a responsibility of choosing between good and evil as a result of a now emerging free will. In creating man, God gave him a free will; but, on the other hand, man is free to fall. Man is entitled to punishment to his sins which are attached to his free fall. This then poses a question on Godââ¬â¢s merciful intentions: if man is not responsible for the fall as it was based on free will, how can he be subject to punishment? However, if God inclines the will of man to moral good or evil according to his own pleasures, and then rewards the good and punishes the evil disparity is also caused. It is then from this supposition that divine justice is founded on. Milton emphasizes what Genesis describes about a sinful fate and nature of man as well as the consequences that this development brings: â⠬Å"Farewel happy Fields Where Joy for ever dwells: Hail horrours, hail infernal worldâ⬠(9). In the preceding line, Milton shortly chronicles the partial end of ââ¬Å"absoluteâ⬠happiness of mankind. ... It is true that if man had not fallen then there would be no need of Christ the Savior. This also means that there would be no redemption which is Godââ¬â¢s plan of restoring man. The process of redemption of man began when Christ died for man. Even though man will have to suffer consequences, he will have Godââ¬â¢s grace and mercy. This is ironical, because itââ¬â¢s God who created man a perfect human being and then later punishes man for fulfilling his purpose. In his poem, Milton states: ââ¬Å"If not depravââ¬â¢d from good, created all Such to perfection, one first matter all, Induââ¬â¢d with various forms, various degrees Of substance, and in things that live, of life (85). This can only be justified if punishing man was one of the plans of God. However, it is significant to note that the good resulting from the fall surpasses the consequences of the original sin, hence the fall can be said to be fortunate to man. Furthermore, there is a significant incongruence o f Miltonââ¬â¢s account of the Fall of Man as compared to that stated in the Bible: ââ¬Å"Which hee, who comes thy Saviour, shall recure, not by destroying SATAN, but his worksâ⬠(208). In the preceding passage, Milton is trying to say that Jesus will only end the bad works of Satan, but not Satan himself. This is quite Biblically intriguing in that in Revelation Satan will be destroyed forever, which obviously would include his bad deeds. Milton through Satanââ¬â¢s declamations shows Satanââ¬â¢s idea of free will as a facade. God carefully manipulates Satan to accomplish his plan of Adam and Eveââ¬â¢s fall. While speaking, Satan mistakably introduces doubtful thoughts in the minds of the reader in the sense that his or her will is free. Satan aims at proving that God
